Explore Galore

Today in Explore Galore the children were creating and explaining things that started with 'W'. As our focus was helping each other the children worked with a buddy.
We had windmills, windows, windscreen wipers, even a whale.
The children created wacky wigs with the play dough too.

Mason and Tommy researched about windmills.
They found out that windmills are used for electricity, water and milling flour.
The bits at the top that go around are called blades.

Exciting Visitors

Look what came to visit R13 on Tuesday.

Daniel brought some Japanese Quail to share with us.
One is a male and the other is a female.
They are his brother's new pets.
They eat bread and seed and live in a coup in their backyard.
Thank you Daniel we haven't seen Japanese Quail before.

Explore Galore - Taking Turns

Nicolas asked Carise if he could have a turn with the cello tape when she had finished.

Some children made amazing inventions to help Mr Pike pick up all the leaves, nuts and seeds that fall in the autumn all over the playground.
Nicolas worked hard on his. He tested it and changed it several times until he was happy with it.
Great job Nicolas!

Later in the day the children had the opportunity to use some of the new apps on the iPads.
Sam and Carise took turns with the iPad. Ka pai girls.
The children also had the opportunity to work on study ladder. Some had never been on before so they learned how to put in their username and password.
If you have misplaced these details please let me know as I can send them to you.
