Wheels Day

What fun we had today!
It was great that the rain held off so that we could have our wheels day.
So many bikes and scooters! So good to see the helmets to protect those precious heads.
We did have a few spills and injuries but only minor. Phew!
Even Ms Anderson, Mr Hansen and Mrs Scott brought their bikes!!!!
See if you can spot how Ms Anderson's bike was different.
This afternoon the children began some writing about wheels day. We discussed what we saw, heard and felt. Look out for some of these stories when they are finished.

Letters of the week - Bb and Pp

This week we looked at the letters Bb and Pp.
During our Explore Galore time we made Beautiful Bubble Baskets by using a straw to blow bubbles into a mixture of dye and washing liquid. The bubbles erupted over the sides of the container which we then placed our basket patterns on, to transfer the bubble colour and shape. When the dye was dry these were cut out and folded to make out baskets. Please come and see them hanging in our room.

We also had fun blowing bubbles outside.

Other learning experiences this week included making popcorn.
Our stories were full of what we saw, heard, tasted, felt and smelt.

I ate popcorn and the popcorn looked fluffy and cloudy and soft.
It was yummy and white.
Thank you Mrs Hinman.

The popcorn was crunchy and fun.
Pop, pop, pop went the popcorn when it exploded.

By Finn

The popcorn was buttery and warm.

By Lotte

One time when we were at school, we made popcorn
and it was crunchy and it was smelly when it was cracking.

By Connor

Please come and look at the wonderful floating popcorn stories in Room 13.

Jelly Wobble Day

Mmmm, yum. The photos below show the delicious Jelly Wobbles created and eaten today.

Explore Galore - sharing

On Friday we were learning to share.

We all felt happy sharing
We iced biscuits. We shared the icing, knives, serviettes, sprinkles, snakes and chocolate chips so that we all could have a yummy iced biscuit.
We even shared our biscuits with Room 16. It made us happy to see them happy when we shared.
Guess what? They then shared some snake lollies with us.
Sharing makes everyone happy.
We watched the story of The Rainbow Fish. The Rainbow Fish learned how to share.

We shared scales too when we made our Rainbow Fish pictures.

Duathlon

Well done Room 13.
I am so proud of how you all had a 'give-it-a-go' attitude today.
It was a damp and cool day for a swim and run around the field in your togs.
What a fantastic whole school event. It was great to see some parents too.

Check out the R13 PMP super-stars.

Take a look at these photos showing our PMP session today. Sessions cover activities
which focus on balance, eye tracking, visual memory, hand-eye coordination, eye-foot coordination and fine motor skills. All these activities help the children in the classroom too.

Our wet week.

After several days of wet weather we decided we needed to sing the rain away.
We also talked about the sounds that the rain makes.
These are the wonderful, rain sound words we came up with.
